Islamabad: An FIR has been registered at Aabpara Police Station against unknown individuals following an attack on Rauf Hassan, the Secretary of Information for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
According to the FIR filed by Hassan, the incident occurred after he participated in a television program. While heading towards the parking area, he was intercepted and assaulted by a person who appeared to be a transgender individual. Subsequently, three more individuals of similar appearance joined in the attack.
The FIR details that the assailants attempted to kill Hassan by slashing his neck with a sharp weapon. As he moved back to protect himself, he sustained a cut on his face from the weapon.
The report also mentions a similar encounter two days earlier in Islamabad’s Blue Area, where Hassan had another threatening confrontation with individuals who appeared to be transgender.
The charges in the FIR include attempted murder and issuing death threats, among other allegations. Authorities are investigating the incident and seeking to identify the attackers involved.
