LAHORE: Head Coach Pakistan cricket team Waqar Younis has stated that international comeback is Mohammad Amir’s right and he will welcome him in the team.
Talking to media in Lahore,that Amir has served his sentence and hhe honestly feels that he deserves a second chance.
“ It’s not that we need someone like him badly in the team at the moment, but our culture and religion allows people to come back if they have made a mistake and served their punishment, so why can’t we give Mohammad Amir another chance?” Younis added
Commenting on leg spinner Yasir Shah’s suspension, he was of the opinion that it would be a big set for Pakistan team.
“Yasir absence will be felt in New Zealand tour, but I am confident that Pakistan team is still strong enough to beat New Zealand.”
Waqar was concerned about Pakistan slow batting pace in ODIs, and said they want to play pacy and positive cricket because, chasing down 300+ is no more a big deal in ODIs these days.
