PCB releases six players from ongoing training camp

Wahab-Riaz

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board on Wednesday has released six players from ongoing training camp for New Zealand tour so that they can participate in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy’s final from their respective departments.

PCB has released Sharjeel Khan, Wahab Riaz and Sohaib Maqsood for United Bank Limited (UBL) where Mohammad Hafeez, Umar Akmal and Rumman Raees have been released for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines (SNGPL).

It is pertinent to mention here that SNGPL and UBL both qualified for the final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy after defeating their respective opponents in their last pool match of the Super Eight stage. The two winners will now face each other in the final, which will be played with the pink kookaburra ball at the National Stadium of Karachi from January 3 to 7.

It is to be kept in mind that Pakistan has to take on New Zealand in January at their soil which is kind of tough task but PCB has organized a training camp for players so that they can train themselves for upcoming series.

Pakistan has to play three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and to two T20s in their tour to KIWI land.
