MUMBAI- It’s a difficult phase for the director and producers it seems. On one side Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ is yet to get a heroine for the leading role, a war has begun between Parineeti Chopra and Shraddha Kapoor for the role of the leading lady in Mohit Suri’s venture ‘Half Girlfriend.’
Directed by ‘Aashiqui 2’ director Mohit Suri, the film ‘Half Girlfriend’ is based on author Chetan Bhagat’s novel with the same title. The movie has been in the news since the makers announced the project. The cast of the film has been changing since the beginning.
Earlier there were reports that Mohit Suri will cast Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon in the lead role but, later on, it was Sushant Singh Rajput who bagged the role of the male lead. Unfortunately, due to some date clash with Sushant’s other commitments he had to quit this project. Finally, it was ‘Shandaar’ star Shahid Kapoor who has been supposedly roped in to essay the lead role.
Talking about the female lead, several names have sprung up. After Kriti Sanon declined the offer makers are now hunting for a heroine to be the hero’s ‘Half Girlfriend.’
We have learnt that the makers are either planning to rope in Shraddha Kapoor or Parineeti Chopra for the film. Parineeti Chopra was last seen in ‘Kill Dil’ which release in 2014.
Since then, the lady has been missing from the Silver screen. But now that she was undergone a physical transformation there are chance that this film falling into Parineeti’s kitty.
On the other hand, Shraddha Kapoor was last seen in ‘ABCD 2’ alongside Varun Dhawan. Her efforts in the film were highly appreciated.
Well, who would Mohit Suri finally cast for his film? Only time will tell us!
