LODHRAN: Newly elected Member of National Assembly (MNA) Jahangir Khan Tareen on Thursday asked federal government to release Rs 2 billion for people of Lodhran as Prime Minister of Pakistan announced the special package during political gathering in Lodhran before NA-154 election, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
General Secretary of Pakistan Taehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jahangir Khan Tareen addressed a rally during celebrations of NA-154 victory.
Earlier, chairman PTI, Imran Khan said that PTI beat Pakistan Mulim League-Nawaz and Muutahida Qaumi Movement in NA-154 election.
“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif tried to buy the votes with the package of 2.5 billion but people of Lodhran rejected the offer of premier,” Imran Khan said.
He also said that PTI fought against the provincial and federal government but voters rejected the PML-N candidate Sadiq Baloch.
Khan said that PTI defeated the ruling party with a margin of as many as 40,000 votes which is huge. He said that members of the party worked really hard and the party deserved this achievement.
In recent political battle, Tareen won the seat with more than 1.17 lac votes while PML-N’s Siddique Baloch could only manage 73,247 votes. Overall polling situation on December 23 remained in control owing to Pakistan Army and other law enforcement agencies.
