Pillion-riding in Sindh banned for two days

KARACHI: Government of Sindh in wee hours of Tuesday announced a two-day ban on pillion-riding of motorbike in Sindh, TheNewsTribe.com reported.

Ban will be enforced from 10:00 pm on Wednesday (tomorrow).

Rangers and police personnel will be deployed to ensure the security during Chehlum procession, meeting informed.

Rangers and police snipers will be deployed atop buildings on the route of the Chehlum procession. Spokesperson told that security arrangements were reviewed for Chehlum procession.

Besides pillion-riding ban, authorities have beefed up security across the province to avert any untoward incident on Chehlum and municipal elections.

Earlier, Sindh education department announced four-day holiday of education institutions on account of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) and local government elections in Karachi.

According to officials, the government-run schools and colleges in Karachi will remain closed from December 3 to 6 (Thursday to Sunday).

The Chehlum will be observed across the country on Thursday, whereas local government elections are scheduled to be held in the city on Saturday.
