RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has become the first Asian to receive Brazil’s coveted “Order of Merit” award.
“COAS was awarded Brazil’s coveted Award “Order of Merit” in special Ceremony in recognition of his leadership for successful fight vs multiple threats,” DG ISPR Lt-Gen Asim Bajwa tweeted.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, on Tuesday, COAS General Raheel Sharif arrived at Brazil Army Headquarters. He was presented Guard of honor and 19 guns salute. Met with Army Commander.
Matters of mutual professional interest and military to military relations were discussed.
COAS met Chief of Joint Staff Brazil Armed Forces, General Jose Carlos De Nardi. Regional security, emerging challenges.
