KARACHI: Sindh Government has announced a public holiday on Wednesday on account of Bhitai Day.
Pilgrims from across the province have started to arrive at Bhit Shah for the 219th Urs of renowned Sindhi sufi poet Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai (R.A). The pilgrims will arrive at the Shrine of the renowned poet and offer prayers.
Agricultural and cultural exhibitions along with horse riding and Malakhra competitions are also held whereas literary conference is also organized. Musical program and an award ceremony is held on the third day of the Urs.
Strict security arrangements have been made for the Urs. Walkthrough gates have been placed at the entrance of the Shrine of the sufi poet.
According to Nisar Khoro, Education Minister of Sindh, all government and private schools and colleges will remain closed in Sindh on November 27th for the occasion.
