NAB submits modified report of mega corruption cases in Supreme Court | Thenewstribe.com

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday has decided to start inquiries against five people including three former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) ministers.

According to details, decision has been taken during a meeting of the Executive Board of NAB headed by Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry.

The inquiries have been directed against former Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazhar-ul Haq for alleged illegal appointment of thirteen thousand teachers, also against former Federal Communications Minister Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan and his wife former Member National Assembly (MNA) Asma Alamgir, and former Balochistan Minister for Excise and Taxation Muhammad Amin Umrani regarding accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income.

It is to be kept in mind that PPP nowadays is under serious pressure over corruption allegations, specially after the detention of senior leader and close aide of former president Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, Dr Asim Hussain.

Moreover, party leadership is continuously denying the allegations of corruption and also demanding to open the record of other political parties.
