Six killed as jeep plunge into ravine

PESHAWAR: At least six people were killed while one more sustained serious injuries when a jeep took a plunge  into a deep ravine in Chorbut Mando Pate  area in district Shangla, police said Saturday.

“A  vehicle bearing a license plate number SH 4279 was on its way from Alpori Lewni to Jabba Top when it  dived into a roadside gorge after swerving off the road. I can confirm six fatalities,” an official said.

The only survivor is a woman who suffered serious traumatic injuries in the mishap, he added.

“The decease were identified as Muhammad Atif son of Muhammad Younis,  his wife, son Fahad, nephew Afnan, Shah Khalid son of Dilawar  resident of Damori,” the police said adding,” We have not been able to identify a deceased woman as yet.”
