NA-122: ECP accepts Ayaz Sadiq’s nomination papers

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday has given green signal to former speaker national Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq by accepting nomination for by-elections in NA-122.

According to details, ECP rejected all objections raised by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Ayaz Sadiq’s candidature.

Sadiq, a stalwart of the ruling PML-N, was de-seated by an election tribunal over election irregularities in his constituency during 2013 general elections. The tribunal ordered reelection that is going to be held on Oct 11.

Another seat was vacated by the ruling party when its sitting MNA, Siddique Baloch, was disqualified by an election tribunal for possessing fake degree. The ECP is going to hold reelection in his constituency NA-154 Lodhran on Oct 11.
