Eid Al Adha 2015: KP to observe Eid on Thursday

PESHAWAR: Masjid Qasim Ali Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Province of Pakistan has announced to observe Eid al Adha on Thursday, September 24, with Saudi Arabia.

The moon sighting committee presided over by Mufti Shahabuddin Populzai along with 20 Ulemas of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan of Peshawar.

Despite receiving no any witnesses, Populzai continued its streak to observe major Muslim festivals (like both Eids) with Saudi Arabia, a day before Pakistan.

Eid al Adha will be celebrated in Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, Malakund and Waziristan areas. No government official participated in the meeting headed by Mufti Populzai.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan’s northwest province celebrates two Eids every year. One with Masjid Qasim Ali Khan and the second with government of Pakistan.

Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, the official moon sighting committee of Pakistan is meeting today in Karachi to see the Zil Hajjah crescent under Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman.
