South Africa set 284 runs target for New Zealand

DURBAN: After a slow start to their innings South African Team has managed to score a respectable total of 283-7 in their 50 overs.

South African openers Hashim Amla and Van Wyk started the innings very carefully and slowly but then middle order batting managed to score a sizable total of 283-7 in their total 50 overs.

Morne Wan Vyk and AB Devilliers made half centuries and scored 58 and 64 runs respectively and at the end of innings Farhan Behardien made a blistering 40 runs off just 27 balls and gave pace to the slow South African innings.

Grant Elliot was the pick of the bowlers from New Zealand side with 41-2 in his 10 overs whereas wheeler was the most expensive bowler he gave away 71 runs for 3 wickets in his 10 over.

It is to be kept in mind that south africa won the toss earlier and decided to bat first in the series decider clash between both sides.
