LONDON – Australian fast bowler James Faulkner has been fined £10,000 and also has received two-year driving ban.
Manchester Magistrates’s Court imposed the two-year driving ban and fine on Australian star cricketer. James Faulkner, who won the Man of the Match award in the final of Cricket World Cup 2015, three times crossed the speed limit and hit the back of another car in Manchester.
James Faulkner admitted his mistake and said “I can’t excuse my actions and understand that I have let people down.”
Australian all-rounder will miss the One Day International series against Ireland and T20 series against England.
District Judge Mark Hadfield said: “I am sure you accept it was foolhardy in the extreme to get behind the wheel of your vehicle having been out for a meal with your friend.”
