Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson completes 300 wickets

BIRMINGHAM –  Australian fast bowler Mitchel Johnson completed the 300 Test wickets during third Test match of Ashes series against England.

Mitchel Johnson became fifth Australian bowler to take 300 Test wickets. He achieved this milestone after he dismissed English player Bairstow.

He joined Australia’s 300-wicket club in his 69th Test match. So far, he took 301 wickets with the average of 27.1.

Left arm pacer became the second Australian bowler to scored 2000 runs along with three hundred Test wickets after Legendary Shane Warne.

He joined the 300-wicket club with legendary leg spinner Shane Warne, great Australian bowler Glen McGrath, Dennis Lille and fast boelr Brett Lee.

Shane Warne was the only Australian bowler who took 708 wickets and scored 3154 runs in Test career. Fast bowler Glen McGrath is second Australian leading wicket taker. He grabbed 563 Test wickets.

Mitchel Johnson need just 9 wickets to surpassed Brett Lee and grab fourth place in the list of Australian leading wicket takers.

Lee took 310 Test wickets in his career.

Earlier, Dale Steyn completed 400 wickets in Test cricket and became the second South African bowler to take 400 Test wickets.
