Pakistan postponed Zimbabwe tour in September

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to postpone Zimbabwe tour due in September this year, local media reported.

The  bilateral series against Zimbabwe was a ‘favour returned’ from Pakistan for Zimbabwe’s tour to Pakistan in May ending a six-year cricket drought in Pakistan.

The series later turned into a tri-series adding West Indies to complete a trio, however Pakistan declined to play triangular series after attaining a 3-1 series-win against Sri Lanka.

According to reports, PCB proposed to convert the tri-series format into T20s after its ‘selfish’ decision was widely criticised in cricketing circles.

The tri-series had its importance because both West Indies and Pakistan are on 8th and 9th spots in ICC rankings with the difference of just two points.

There are reports that West Indies has approached India to arrange a bilateral series.
