Eid al-Fitr 2015 moon sighted in Pakistan

KARACHI: Pakistan’s Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman on Friday announced that committee has received two evidences of Shawwal Crescent. However, official announcement will be done after three or more evideneces.

The central committee meeting is being held in Pakistan’s largest city Karachi along-with Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta for the sighting of Shawwal Crescent.

Members of the central and Karachi Ruet-e-Hilal committees, officials of the Met Department and Space, and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) experts are present on the occasion.

Services from Pakistan Meteorological Department are also taken for making final decision of Shawwal moon sighting.
