Champions league T20 tournament cancelled by organizing countries

NEW DELHI – The Champions League Twenty20 tournament has been officially discontinued and this year’s tournament, scheduled in Australia in September has been cancelled.

The competition was a joint venture between Cricket Australia, Cricket South Africa and the Board of Control for Cricket in India and had run for six years since its launch in 2009.

The decsion was made jointly by reprentatives of thredd cricketing boards in ameeting in News Delhi.

A joint statement by three cricket boards read that growing expenditures and loosing interst of media partners compelled them to make this decision.

It is worth mentioning that wiining price of tournament was $6 million and Chennai Super Kings were the defending champions.
