Younus and Shan leads Pakistan fightback in Pallekele test

PALLEKELE – Partnership between Younus Khan and young opening batsman Shan Masood lead Pakistan team to a strong fight back in a chase against Sri Lanka in the third and final test.

Sri Lanka picked up two early wickets as Shahzad and Azhar got out with only 13 runs on the score board.

Left-handed Masood was unbeaten on 93 and Younis was on 86, with Pakistan still 183 runs away from victory on a wearing pitch at the Pallekele International Stadium.

No visiting team has scored more than 300 runs in the fourth innings to win a Test on Sri Lankan soil.
