ISLAMABAD – After a severe criticism on social media, the Centaurus administration has decided to review its decision of commanding entry fee of Rs 100 per head.
According to the reviewed decision, the Rs 100 fee will be imposed from 8’o clock in the night and this amount will be adjustable with the shopping by visitors Last week management of Centaurus promulgated that every visitor will be charged Rs 100 to get into the mall.
Some of the people including elder citizens, females, kids, foreigners, media persons, advocates, and government officers were given exemption of this entry fee.
After this announcement from Centaurus on print media, the activists of the social media along with the celebrities and politicians instigated the movement and called this decision discriminatory.
Majority of the people argued that all of the citizens of twin cities should be equally treated to enter into the mall. Masses condemned this decision and called this humiliating for those who come for window shopping.
“In abroad, people wanders around the shopping plazas, there should be no issue here too”. One of the citizens said. Management of Centaurus says after the inauguration of the Metro Bus, the number of the visitors have increased big time.
Marketing Official of Centaurus Kashif Butt told media that they have capacity and security constraints that why they had imposed this decision. In first half of, Centaurus received about twenty five thousand visitors per day.
Administration claims in second half of Ramzan, this figure can reach up to fifty thousand per day, hence it will become difficult for the administration and shopkeepers to handle such a huge number of visitors.
