ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has taken serious notice of the national hockey team for not making it to the next year’s Olymic Games.

The prime minister who is also the Patron in Chief of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has taken strict notice of the national team’s performance in world hockey league and seeks report from Pakistan Hockey Federation.

According to spokesperson of PM House, PM seeks proposals from former players for the betterment of hockey in Pakistan.

Moreover, Prime Minister said that hockey was our national pride and efforts would be made for the revival of game in Pakistan.

Former olympians also lashed out at the PHF after Pakistan failed to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics following an embarrassing 0-1 defeat at the hands of Ireland on Friday.

Former Olympian Khawaja Zakauddin explicitly called it ‘doomsday for Pakistan hockey’.
