Gujranwala train incident: Investigation team to submit report within 72 hours

GUJRANWALA – Investigation team for Gujranwala train incident headed by Federal Government Inspector for Railways, will submit to Ministry of Railway within 72 hours.

Investigation team started the investigation of Gujranwala train incident occurred on Thursday.  Federal Inspector for Railways Mian Arshad is leading the investigation team.

JIT consist of for railway and three army officials.

While talking to media, Spokesperson of Pakistan Railway informed that investigation team will submit the report within 72 hours. He also told that the collapsed bridge was in good condition. It was constructed in 1948.

General Raheel Sharif and other senior military and civil officials attended the funeral prayers of 14 deceased at C.M.H.

Earlier, Federal Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique, said that chance of terror activity cannot be ruled out in the Gujranwala Special Train incident.

While talking to media, Khawaja Saad Rafique claimed that bridge was perfectly all right. He also said that chance of terror activity cannot be ruled out.

Federal Minister told that complete report over train incident will be finalized in 72 hours.  He also informed that bridge was perfectly fit and declared fit in November during inspection.

He said that all Railway bridges examined four time in a calendar year.

Three bogies of train which was carrying 300 passengers fell into a canal on Thursday near Wazirabad in Gujranwala.
