WASHINGTON: T-mobile has announced a new Jump Up plan for subscriber to upgrade new handsets whenever they want without waiting for their handset being paid off, well what’s the catch here?
What is this offer?
This is certainly a bomb that lives up to the CEO John Legere’s style but how does it work this time? Well, T-Mobile has been offering phones on upfront full price or 24 monthly installments. Jump offer would allow people to jump from one installment plan to swap it with another without any extra costs or waiting.
Jump was around already; What’s new?
You now get to Jump three times a year instead of two at the same $10 a month however the insurance would now be an additional $8 a month. As Legere puts it “JUMP! On Demand is the best way to get a new smartphone whenever you want. Zero out the door. Zero at upgrade. Zero fees. Zero wait. Zero BS.”
Who would benefit from it?
Certainly not the low end customers since Jump is available on a handful of high-end cell phones only including iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge and the LG G4.
Another glitche for existing consumers would be the term that it is only valid for new customers which means you have to be buying a new hand set to avail this offer.
Looks like T-mobile in its aggresive chain of moves against it’s rivals has come up with a catchy new plan to provide customers with something over the top and to some extent it is so but to existing customer’s dismay they would have to wait for their existing plans to end or just Jump Up altogether to get a new plan.
