Election Commission of Pakistan issues schedule of local government elections in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) finally issued a schedule for conducting local government elections in Islamabad.

ECP Additional Secretary Sher Afgan said that it would be the first time local government elections would be held in urban areas of the Islamabad.

According to the schedule announced by Election Commission, the dates for filling nomination papers are June 25 and 26, while the dates for scrutiny of papers are 29th and 30th June.

The revised list of candidates will be published on 6th of July, while the polling in federal capital will be held on July 27.
