Former Prime Minister’s Resign PPP Positions

ISLAMABAD – Yousuf Raza Gillani and Raja Pervez Ashraf, former prime ministers of Pakistan, have resigned from their positions during the central executive committee meeting of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) held on June 17.

The two former prime ministers decided to resign from their positions voluntarily in the aftermath of Asif Ali Zardari Statements, the former president of Pakistan, against the most prestigious institution of the country.

According to sources, Raja Pervez Ashraf said that Army had rendered uncountable sacrifices for Pakistan’s dignity and sovereignty and that was the most honorable institution.

He said that no one had the right to point finger of blame towards Pakistan Army, said sources.

Meanwhile, Yousuf Raza Gillani said that he was quitting his party position so that Bilawal Bhutto could easily reorganize the structure of the PPP without the pressure of the senior members.
