ISLAMABAD – After sighting the moon of holy month of Ramadan, muslims of Pakistan offered first Taraveeh of this year.
The largest gathering of Taraweeh prayer held in capital city at Shah Faisal Masjid, where thousands of people from surroundings areas of Islamabad attended the cresent occasion.
Before the Taraveeh parayer, Imam Shah Faisal Masjid highlighted the importance of Ramadan and guided the muslims how to seek the ultimate blessings of Almighty.
Faisal Masjid has an exclusive Prayer Area for women, therefore a large number of women also offered the prayer before Imam.
Local administration of Islamabad have made special arrangements of security for Taraweeh prayer, having two policemen and walk through gates.
Apart from Faisal Masjid, administration has deputed over 2500 policemne for the security of rest of the 920 Mosques and 40 Imam Bargahs of capital city.
Earlier, moon of Ramadan sighted in different parts of Pakistan, confirming that first day of Ramadan will be observed on Friday.
According to the information moon of Ramadan was sighted in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Abbottabad and other cities of Pakistan.
First Ramadan in Pakistan will observe on Friday but in some areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa people observed fast on Thursday. Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai announced the sighting of moon on Wednesday.
