PHC Stops Re-polling in PK-95

PESHAWAR – Peshawar High Court (PHC) has ordered to stop re-election in PK-95, Lower Dir on Thursday.

According to sources, the Jamat-i-Islami (JI) had filed a petition in PHC against the decision of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for re-polling of votes in PK-95

The re-polling in PK-95 was decided by ECP in the wake of barring women from casting vote during by-elections after JI Amir, Siraj-ul-Haq vacated the seat.

However, the re-polling decision was being challenged by JI in PHC as a result the court stopped ECP from re-election in PK-95
