ISLAMABAD – The Chief of Army Staff, Raheel Sharif, has left for a very important three day tour of Sri Lanka on Friday.
According to sources, Raheel Sharif will meet high Civil and Military officials of Sri Lanka during the tour.
It would be the first ever visit of Raheel Sharif to Sri Lanka, earlier he was supposed to visit Sri Lanka but cancelled the Visit due to Safoora bus killing which claimed more than 45 precious lives.
Sources said that Sri Lanka and Pakistan have close Civil-Military ties and such sort of visits will help strengthening the relations between the two countries.
During the last month, President of Sri Lanka also visited Pakistan and signed many MOUs and other agreements during the tour.
Raheel Sharif’s visit is of three days, and he will meet top ranked military officers and civil leadership to discuss matter related to security and economy.
