Mastermind of attack on President’s son captured in Hub

QUETTA – The mastermind behind the attack on President Mamnoon Hussain’s son was arrested Wednesday during an operation conducted by Frontier Corps (FC) in Hub.

On May 24, at least three people were killed while 13 others, including four police personnel were wounded in a remote-controlled bomb blast aimed at the convoy of Salman Mamnoon in Hub.

According to an FC spokesperson, a key commander of Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), Sorat Jan Maari, was held among the two arrested by the security forces.

“Marri was involved in the killing of eight labourers in October 2014 as well as in the attack on a bus carrying Chinese passengers that led to the death of 35 people,” the FC official said.

He added that the BLA commander was also involved in the targeted killing of security officials.
