Police Take Control Of Lahore High Court

LAHORE – Police has again taken control of security of Lahore High Court after nine days of Daska incident, media reports revealed.

After Daska incident, Rangers took charge over the security of Lahore High court.

Earlier in Daska, At least two lawyers were killed in clashes with police when an anti-encroachment drive turned violent in Punjab province’s Daska city, forcing authorities to deploy paramilitary forces to contain the unrest.

The president of Daska Bar Rana Khalid, along with another lawyer Irfan Chohan, has succumbed to injuries after receiving bullets.

 

The lawyers had staged a protest against the police in front of City Police Station in Daska. The situation got worse as the skirmishes started between the SHO and the protesting lawyers. The police opened fire at the lawyers during which the president of Daska bar died at the spot.

The Rangers have been ordered to beef up the security of the courts however, police personnel have also been refrained from participating in any security related operation.
