ISLAMABAD – The Election Commission of Pakistan has taken the notice of not allowing the women to cast their ballots in some of the polling stations during KPK Local Bodies Elections.
The Election Commission while taking notice of the report has issued instructions to the returning officers to strictly abide by the code of conduct.
According to the sources, the officials revealed that the ECP would not issue the notification for the winning candidate if the women of the particular constituency were not allowed to participate in polling.
The voting for the local Bodies election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) started at 0800 PST and it will continue without any break till 1700 PST on Saturday.
According to sources, over 84000 candidates are contesting in election for 41000 seats in different constituencies.
Voting for Local Bodies Polls being underway in 24 districts of KPK.
More than 11,000 polling stations have been set up across the province in 24 districts of KPK.
According to statistical information, more than 13 Million people to cast their votes in the Local Bodies Election today.
