LAHORE – The cricket team selector’s unwise approach of selecting players for the second part of Zimbabwe tour seems to yield no result.
According to the sources, the team selectors ignored the players who showed best performance in the previous matches.
Mukhtar Ahmad despite of his tremendous performance in T-20 has been dropped from the squad against second part of Zimbabwe tour.
The selection panel also dropped Sami Aslam, who performed well in ODI last month.
The other heart pinching decision is that of ignoring, Saad Nasim, a middle order batsman and also a leg-spinner.
This sort of decision curtails the young talent from showing their performance and thus they disappear from the screen.
The most alarming thing is that, Sohail Tanveer, who was also not considered for the ongoing T-20 series despite of his impressive performance in Bangladesh.
Furthermore, Muhammad Sami and Shoaib Malik have managed to sustain their positions not due to their performance instead there had been no one to supersede them
Whereas Muhammad Hafeez also got a chance to become a part of the ODI team though he had an embarrassing runs record during Bangladesh tour. He scored just eight runs in three games against Bangladesh.
If the same approach of selectors prevails the time is not far away that Pakistan team will be brought on the verge of collapse.
