Helmand Attack: 26 Security Personnel Died

Helmand – Taliban attacked in Helmand province of Afghanistan, around twenty six security personnel lost their lives on Tuesday.

According to the sources, 19 police personnel and seven Army soldiers were being killed in an attack carried out by Taliban

One of the police officer said that the assailants after grabbing police vehicles and blocking roads managed to launch attacks within 20 minutes, said sources.

The attacks were carried out over police compounds and many other police check posts.

Furthermore, 11 other lives were reported to have lost in the fights between IS and Taliban groups, however it could not be confirmed that the deaths belongs to which groups.

It is pertinent to mention here that the operations against the insurgents was launched in March this years but it seems that Afghan government have failed to curb militants.
