Polio Virus Reported In Quetta

QUETTA – The Polio Emergency Operation Centre (PEOC) confirms the victims of poliomyelitis virus in Quetta and Qilla Abdullah.

According to the sources, the polio team tested the affected areas on Monday morning and the suspicion came out to be positive.

Among other affected areas where the presence of polio virus has been confirmed include Zhob, Sherani, and Pasheen.

The polio team collected sewerage samples through which the presence of virus was affirmed.

Pakistan has long been fighting to curb polio completely which on the global scale has become one of the significant indicators of underdevelopment and bad governance.

Even most of the third world countries have been able to successfully eradicate the virus completely. But Pakistan still lags behind.

There has been a number of incidents where the polio staff has been attacked by the miscreants under the disguise of religious exclusions whose actual agenda comes out to be sabotaging the health activities.
