PCB disappoints talent again

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) startles cricket experts and fans as its selectors prefer out of form Shoaib Malik over inform young and aggressive batsman Mukhtar Ahmed, who scored invaluable back to back fifties against Zimbabwe in recent Twenty 20 series.

The recent selection for One Day International (ODI) series against Pakistan has put a lot of questions on selection criteria. The young opening batsman, who made his place in millions of cricketing fans after his ‘boom boom’ performance, unfortunately could not make a place in upcoming ODI series.

Meanwhile, senior batsman Shoaib Malik, who scored 14 runs in two T20 matches, was privileged to be picked for three-match ODI series in place of young Mukhtar who scored 145 runs in two-match series.

It seems Mukhtar’s145 runs off 85 balls (in two T20 matches) with a strike rate of 170 and being named as ‘man of the series’ could not make selectors count on him for ODI series. He should consult with Malik to know the charm to be picked without performing.
