Pakistan Announces One Day Mourn Over MI-17 Crash In Gilgit

GILGIT – The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif, has shown much resentment over the Copter crash in Gilgit and announced one day mourn over the tragic incident happened in Naltar Valley in Gilgit on Friday.

According to official data released by ISPR, the media relation department of Pakistan Armed Forces, six persons killed in the crash landing of MI-17 in Naltar Valley.

The dead includes envoys of Norway and Philippines, while wives of Ambassadors of Indonesia and Malaysia.

According to foreign office of Pakistan, the ambassadors were on the three day trip to Naltar Valley in Gilgit. Four helicopters were taking more than hundred and thirty foreign officials to Gilgit Baltistan.

Three helicopters land safely while the fourth one catches fire in the air and crashed with the school on its way and completely destroyed.

In the wake of tragic incident prime Minister of Pakistan announced a one day mourn in Pakistan.

Foreign office is in contact with the High Commission and embassies of the deceased foreign officials.

Khawaja Asif, the Defence Minister Of Pakistan, said that according to initial investigation the crash took place due to technical fault. There is no indication of suspicious activity in the copter, but only the technical fault caused the accident.

The injured person are transferred to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Gilgit.
