LAHORE- Pakistan High Commissioner to India, Abdul Basit, said that with the statement of Indian Interior Minister Pakistan’s stance regarding Dawood Ibrahim proven right.
Pakistan has been clearing its stance regarding Dawood Ibrahim that he is not in Pakistan, but India keep on saying that Pakistan has given the refuge to Dawood Ibrahim.
While talking to an Indian channel he said that it is true that India never talked to Pakistan officially about the exile of Dawood Ibrahim.
He said that after august 2014 no betterment is witnessed in political talks between India and Pakistan.
when Indian foreign minister S.J. Shankar visited Pakistan for SAARC, the ray of hope was enlightened that now the path for negotiation is been paved but it is despairing that both countries still could not smoothen the track for dialogues.
He said that a ray of hope also started in mind of people of Pakistan when Nawaz Sharif and Narendra Modi attended the SARRC conference together in the best of their moods.
In one of the answers to the question, Abdul Basit, said that in case of Zaki UL Lakhivi’s acquittal, it is the right of India to consult with United Nations.
But he strongly palinode that in jail Zaki ul Lakhwi was facilitated with internet, phone and television and several people on daily basis used to come to meet him and spousal relation was permitted to him.
He said that Lakhwi was imprisoned like a common prisoner. As court acquitted him and government of Pakistan is bound to oblige the constitutional and court orders.
He suggested that unless the constitutional proceedings of Lakhwi case are completed, India should wait and avoid alleging Pakistan.
Since 2014, no betterment is witnessed in the relations and dialogue between Pakistan and India as extremists take the better ground in both the states and prevent the two states to improve relations.
