JIT To Investigate Rao’s Allegations Against MQM

KARACHI – Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has been formed by the Sindh Home Department to investigate the allegations put on by the SSP Rao on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Friday.

Senior Supretindent of Police (SSP) Rao Anwar said in a press conference on Thursday that he has captured two suspects of MQM which have direct link with India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

He said in the press conference that two suspects Mama Junaid and Tahir alias Lamba have been captured and they have the record of training under the Indian secret agency RAW.

Basing on these facts in his press conference SSP Rao Anwar said that MQM is a terrorist outfit and strict action should be taken against MQM and its Chief Altaf Hussain for their heinous activities in Karachi.

After suspending the SSP Rao Anwar, Sindh Home department has formed the Joint Investigation Team to probe the charges leveled by Rao against MQM.

The spokesperson of Karachi Police stated that Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo has recommended Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) chief DIG Sultan Khawaja to lead the JIT while Zone East police chief DIG Munir Shaikh will be the member of the team.

The Rangers, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and intelligence agencies including ISI, MI and IB have been asked to nominate their representatives for conducting the investigation on the allegations of Rao Anwar.
