Landsliding killed 52 In Afghanistan

BADAKHSHAN: As Many as 52 individuals have been killed in an avalanche in a remote area of north-eastern Afghanistan.

Shah Waliullah Adeeb, the legislative leader of Badakhshan area, said the avalanche happened in Khawhan region, close to the outskirt with Tajikistan, at an opportune time Tuesday.

He said the range was disengaged, around 124 miles (200km) from the common capital, Faizabad.

Adeeb added that the best way to achieve the territory, now secured with snow, was by helicopter. Badakhshan is one of the poorest and slightest created areas of Afghanistan and routinely endures avalanches when the snows start to liquefy in spring.

In right on time May a year ago, no less than 350 individuals were covered by a mudslide in the same area.
