KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is all set for big show of power in Karachi ahead of NA-246 by elections in Karachi.
The traditional election flurry is entering its last leg as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will hold its rally today at Sharah-e-Pakistan today (Sunday).
PTI leaders including Asad Umar, Imran Ismail and Ali Zaidi overnight visited the rally venue along with workers to scrutinise the preparations.
The central leaders discussed and passed necessary directives for arrangements of the rally and its stage.
The law-enforcement agencies readied a security plan for today’s rally. According to the police sources, at least 2,753 policemen including eight SPs, 16 DSPs, 40 SHOs, eight additional SHOs and 360 rapid response force personnel would be deployed at the venue.
Six teams of bomb disposal squad will scan the rally venue.
Addressing a press conference flanked by Imran Ismail yesterday, PTI Chairman Imran Khan asserted that NA-246 by-election is highly significant for him as his party seeks an end to the politics of fear in the city in order to give its people a ray of hope.
