Nepra cuts power tariff by Rs4.42 per unit

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) reduced on Thursday electricity tariff by Rs4.42 per unit for all distribution companies.

According to reports, Nepra has reduced the tariff for one month to pass to consumers the impact of cheaper furnace oil and gas consumed for power generation in February 2015.

The decision was taken after a public hearing on a petition filed by Central Power Purchase Agency (CPPA) on behalf of the distribution companies.

The adjustment was made after reviewing the cost of per unit production in February which was Rs4.62.
