MELBOURNE: New Zealand have won the toss and elected to bat first against Australia in the final match of World Cup at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
The story was that New Zealand was six runs with one ball remaining to draw the match, But Aussie skipper Greg Chappell ordered the bowler, who is his brother Trevor, to deliver the ball underarm.
The underarm bowling was not ruled as illegal at the time, and Australia were able to beat New Zealand in that match that was too a final of tri series.
This time Australia and New Zealand are once again in the hunt for the trophy but it is the biggest prize of the game.
Stakes were very much high in the final as Kiwis were undefeated in the tournament while Aussies suffered the only defeat against New Zealand at group stage.
