Sarfraz ton helps Pakistan to qualify for knockouts

ADELAIDE: Sarfraz ton has helped Pakistan to beat Ireland in must win game in order to qualify for the World Cup quarterfinal of World Cup.

Sarfraz Ahmed scored a brilliant unbeaten maiden century to guide the team towards a comfortable victory against the Irish team and secure the spot in the quarter final of World Cup.

He made 101 with Ahmed Shehzad  who has played a great hand of 63 at the top order. Both Sarfraz and Shehzad scored 120 for the first wicket.

Pakistan easily chased down 237 on loss of three wickets. Alex Cusack and Stuart Thompson picked oup one wicket each for the side.

Pakistan will face Australia on March 21 in quarterfinal.

Earlier, Pakistan have restricted Ireland to 237 runs. Irish skipper William Poterfield scored outstanding century as he scored 107 runs while Grey Wilson scored 26 runs.

Wahab Riaz picked up three wickets for the side.  Pakistan need 238 runs to win.
