Pakistan beat South Africa by 29 runs

AUCKLAND: Pakistan have defeated South Africa by 29 runs in a crucial match of World Cup 2015 at Eden Garden.

Pakistan bowled out South Africa on 202 runs courtesy of brilliant bowling display by Green-Shirts.

South Africa were all sot of trouble as they lost seven wickets with just 138 runs on the score board. Skipper AB de Villiers batted with great responsibility as he smoked 77 just facing 58 balls.

He was the only batsman to show some resistance against the Green-Shirts bowling attack. Hashim Amla scored 38 runs as well.

Mohammad Irfan, Wahab Riaz and Rahat Ali picked up three wickets for the Green shirts.

Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq once again played a calm hand of 69 runs along with Sarfarz on the top order.

Pakistan off to a good start against South Africa as they managed to score 175 runs in 37 overs on loss of 5 wickets.

Sarfarz Ahmed who was finally given a chance in the World Cup proved his selection right as he scored 49 runs jus facing 49 bowls before getting run out.

On the other hand Ahmed Shehzad lost his wicket after scoring 18 runs courtesy of brilliant running catch by Dale Steyn while Younis Khan finally got some runs under his belt. He scored 37 runs.

With this victory Pakistan climb to 2nd spot on points tablet. Sarfarz Ahmed with his brilliant performance was declared player of the match.
