KARACHI: Denying the negative comments about chief selector Moin Khan and head couch Waqar Younis, attributed to him by Indian media, all-rounder Muhammad Hafeez said that he had never uttered such words as quoted by Indian media.
The India media has quoted him as saying that Moin Khan and coach Waqar Younis were sidelining captain Misbah-ul-Haq.
“I have not said anything like this. This is propaganda aimed at maligning the Pakistan team,” Hafeez told Dawn.
“Pakistani team, players and management are united, there is not any sort of rift or politics in the dressing room,” the all-rounder said.
Pakistan team already went through the rumours of alleged rifts between fielding coach Grant Luden and some Pakistan players including Shahid Afridi, Ahmed Shahzad and Umar Akmal.
Hafeez is of the view that everyone should stop making conspiracy theories.
“The Press Trust of India must prove what they have attributed to me. I will bring this to the knowledge of the Pakistan Cricket Board because this is a serious allegation.”
Facing a tough time inside and outside the ground, Pakistan team will be facing its next opponent, West Indies in Christchurch on Feb 21.
