PM, COAS reach Quetta to attend apex committee meeting

QUETTA: After the successful visit of Afghanistan, the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif resumed the official activities in Pakistan with a visit to Quetta, the chapter of terrorists, local media reported.

According to reports,  Army chief General Raheel Sharif visits Quetta for his official meeting (Apex committee) to be presided by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

After the attack on Army Public School on Dec 16, chief has visited twice Afghanistan with DG ISI.

He met with the delegation of US Congress in Quetta who appreciated the role of Pakistan in ‘War against Terrorism’, according to Inter services Public Relations (ISPR).

ISPR also confirmed that US Congress delegation not only talked on terrorism but also discussed other issues of mutual interests.

Further PM Nawaz Sharif also reached Quetta for two-day’s official visit. He will chair PM Apex Committee meeting at the Governor House. The meeting will be attended by Army Chief, CM Baluchistan and other officials.

PM Nawaz would get briefing on the matters of law and order situation, development plans and ongoing political situation.

Further, Commander Southern Command, Lt Gen Nasir Khan Janhua will brief the meeting on security arrangements.

Moreover, Nawaz Sharif has been scheduled to meet provincial leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the evening.
