Dar, Olson discuss trade, aid

ISLAMABAD: US Ambassador to Pakistan, Richard Olson, Wednesday congratulated Pakistan on a successful 6th IMF Review in Dubai last week.

On the behalf of the US government, Olson extended his felicitations to Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in a meeting held here.
In his note of thanks to US envoy, Ishaq Dar said it was a result of the continued improvement in the national economy and added that in this review no waivers were asked for and no benchmarks were missing.

Olson and Dar also discussed the recent release of two tranches of $ 716 million to Pakistan under Coalition Support Fund (CSF).
He further said that the matters regarding import of live cattle from US to Pakistan had also been settled with the relevant authorities.
The envoy thanked the minister for helping remove the impediments in this regard. Olson assured Dar that import of live cattle from US would begin shortly.
