ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission on Appointment of Superior Courts on Wednesday recommended to Parliamentary Committee to appoint Sindh High Court (SHC) chief justice Maqbool Baqer as judge Supreme Court and Justice Faisal Arab as SHC chief justice.
The Judicial Committee met here with Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Nasirul Mulk in the chair, which deliberated on appointment of judges in superior judiciary.
It recommended the Parliamentary Committee to elevate SHC chief justice Justice Maqbool Baqir to Supreme Court and appoint senior SHC judge Justice Faisal Arab as CJ SHC.
The committee also recommended to appoint Justice retired Riaz Ahmed Kayani as Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court.
It is to be mentioned here that the recommendations of the Judicial Commission if approved by the Parliamentary Committee are sent to President for approval.
