I’ll not play World Cup 2015 despite clearing ICC’s action test: Saeed Ajmal

LAHORE: Pakistan star off spinner Saeed Ajmal said that he will not play World Cup 2015 even if he clear International Cricket Council’s (ICC) official reassessment.

Saeed Ajmal in an interview said that he will not play World Cup 2015 because he is not ready for the mega event.

Banned off-spinner said that he is very thankful to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for supporting him and gave him a chance for another unofficial test before ICC’s official action review.

“I required more time to perfect my new action despite I have cleared my Doosra and new variation as well,” he said.

Suspended Saeed Ajmal is all set to give his official reassessment of bowling action on January 24 in Chennai whether his remodeled bowling action is legal or still have complications.

Earlier Saeed Ajmal reportedly cleared his bowling action that was carried out in Edgbaston.

Surprisingly, Ajmal’s special delivery ‘Doosra’ was also bowled under 15 degree.

It should be mentioned that International Cricket Council (ICC) has said that Saeed Ajmal can play World Cup 2015 if he clears his bowing action by February 7.

The off-spinner was banned from bowling in August 2014 over illegal bowling action for all deliveries, the deadline for submitting squads to the ICC was January 7.

If Saeed Ajmal clears the test then he will be able to play World Cup 2015 or if he fails to do so then he will be banned from international cricket for a year.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is still securing a chance to include Ajmal conditionally in the World Cup squad before February 7 if he makes himself successful to clear bowling action test. Ajmal said to be replaced by Yasir Shah if he will be given place in the tournament.
