ATC cancels compromise deed of Akram Lahori

FAISALABAD:  Anti terrorist court of Faisalabad has cancelled compromise deed of death penalty convicted Akram Ul Haq alias Lahore which were agreed between families of deceased and convicted on January 8.

The family members of deceased did not appear before the court to record statement regarding the compromise deed.

Lahori had to be hanged on January 8 but presenting compromise deed to jail officials his execution was stopped.

On Monday, the court has called the family members of deceased to hear their statement on the compromise deed.

But on given time they did not reach the court and the court cancelled the compromise deed.

Akramul Haq alias Akram Lahori had to be executed on January 8 but his lawyers moved to get a stay order against the execution just hours before the scheduled time.

According to reports, his counsel and brother of Ikramul Haqhad reached the jail hours before the hanging and submitted the pardon by the aggrieved party’ to stay the execution hours before the scheduled time.

Lahori was convicted and sentenced to death in 2001 by a special anti-terrorism court of Faisalabad over charges of murdering a citizen.
